I’m Grady O’Neill, a master’s student in architecture at South Dakota State University, set to graduate in August, 2025, and currently seeking a full-time position where I can apply my skills, leadership experience, and passion for design in a professional setting. I thrive in collaborative environments where problem-solving, efficiency, and creativity come together to create meaningful work.

My experience spans architecture, construction, and virtual design coordination. I started out working as a laborer for construction but my professional journey as a VDC intern at Whiting-Turner, where I worked with BIM workflows, clash detection, and interdisciplinary coordination. That experience strengthened my ability to analyze complex projects, optimize construction processes, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. From there, I transitioned into an architectural internship at A&E Architecture in Bozeman, MT, where I developed construction documents, programming strategies, and 3D models, reinforcing my knowledge of how projects evolve from design to execution.
Outside my work experience, I have been involved quite a lot on the SDSU campus, taking on leadership roles that allowed me to organize, manage, and collaborate across different student organizations and professional networks. I currently serve as the NCARB Representative for AIAS, helping bridge between students and the licensure process while providing resources and mentorship for those planning their professional futures. Previously, I served as the Vice President of AIAS. I was also elected as a Senator at Large for the SDSU Student Association, representing student interests and contributing to university-wide initiatives that impact campus life.

Additionally, I co-founded and served as Vice President of the SDSU Men’s Soccer Club, helping build the foundation of the club’s long-term success through team organization, leadership, and campus engagement. My involvement in multiple organizations reflects my ability to lead, manage responsibilities, and collaborate with others in high-pressure environments.

Outside of architecture, I have a passion for motorcycles and outdoor exploration, including hiking, boating, and running, and I also have a strong interest in photography. I am proficient in Rhino, Lumion, Revit, Enscape, and Adobe softwares, My work often integrates sustainability, material research, and emerging technologies, and I’m always looking for ways to push design efficiency and innovation.

As I prepare to enter the workforce, I’m looking for a full-time position where I can contribute my technical expertise, leadership experience, and passion for architecture to a firm that values collaboration, innovation, and forward-thinking design. I’m ready to take on new challenges and continue growing within the field.
